Morning: Tour of the Anne Frank House
As the sun rises on day two of our itinerary, we’ll set off on a powerful and moving journey to the Anne Frank House. This modest building, tucked away in the heart of Amsterdam, holds within its walls a powerful reminder of the atrocities of World War II and the Holocaust.
We’ll climb the narrow stairway to the Secret Annex, where Anne and her family hid from the Nazis for over two years. As we step into the small, cramped rooms, we’ll be struck by the realization that these were the only walls that separated Anne and her family from certain deaths. We’ll be able to see through the hidden door, which was used for the family to enter the annex, and the bookcase which was the cover for the door.
As we make our way through the exhibits, we’ll learn about Anne’s life in hiding and the daily struggles and fears that she and her family faced. We’ll also see original writings by Anne Frank, such as her diary, which was found in the annex after the family’s capture, giving us an intimate and personal glimpse into her thoughts and feelings.
The visit will be a powerful and emotional experience, one that will stay with us long after we leave the house. It serves as a sobering reminder of the atrocities of war, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of oppression and hatred.

But Vondelpark is not just a place to relax, it also offers plenty of activities and sights. We can explore the open-air theater, which hosts plays and musicals during the summer, or take a dip in the Vondelpark swimming pool on hot summer days.
