We’ve been to Heidelberg several times and can certainly say that the Old Town is one of our favorite places of the city. It’s easy to feel like you’ve stepped back in time while strolling through the winding streets and squares. The Old Town is a treasure trove of attractive architecture and historical landmarks, making it a must-see for any Heidelberg tourist.

The Heiliggeistkirche, a stunning gothic church with a rich history reaching back to the 14th century, is one of our favorite spots in the Old Town. The inside of the church is notable for its extravagant design, which includes spectacular stained glass windows and a high ceiling. If you enjoy old churches and religious architecture, this is a must-see.

The Student Jail, a funny small museum that depicts the story of student life in Heidelberg, is another must-see in the Old Town.
